Chalet Apartments in Crans Montana

Ski-in ski-out in a wonderful setting  in the Valais area of Switzerland; offering guests spacious, flexible, comfortable accommodation.

Two interconnecting south facing duplex chalet apartments in the exclusive all season ski and golf resort of Crans Montana. The apartments are set above the main village with breathtaking views across the Rhone valley from the private gardens and balconies.

 The apartments together sleep up to 12/14 plus a cot, with outside seating areas and a private grass area; stunning views, situated just above the town of Crans Montana, known for its sunny climate, varied skiing and world class alpine golf courses.

These are much loved family apartments which we rent privately for a few weeks each year. They are self catered unless you bring your own cook. Cleaners visit once per week and this is an essential part of the rental. The apartments can be rented together providing six en suite double bedrooms. Alternatively the apartments can be rented separately providing three bedrooms each.

Location

  • Founded in 1893, Crans-Montana is known as one of the sunniest destinations in the Swiss Alps and the one with the purest air. French speaking, Crans-Montana is perched at 1500m, ideally situated on a plateau above the Rhone Valley with its world class and ancient vineyards. It has magnificent views across the valley to 19 of the highest peaks including the Matterhorn.

    Crans-Montana is a paradise for skiers and golfers. The Omega European Masters takes place in late August every year. It is a lively town with most residents living there all year round, meaning the cafes and restaurants stay open - and it is well known for its restaurants, cafes (including the famous  family run Taillens), shopping and culture. The world renowned Le Regent International school, now owned by Le Rosey, for ages 3 to 18 is in the town attracting many international families. The Crans Montana ski area is now owned by Vail Resorts.

  • Crans Montana is a two hour drive from Geneva airport. There are two trains each hour from the airport to Sierre in the valley - with the option of taking the connecting short funicular ride up to Montana Gare. Sion International (small) airport is a 35 min drive.

  • The easiest way to come to Crans Montana is to fly into Geneva. Either hire a car on the Swiss side or take the train from the airport to Sierre. After leaving the train at Sierre walk along the red line painted on the floor of the road outside the train station, and in 5 minutes you'll be at the base of the funicular which takes you up every half an hour into Montana Gare. At the Gare you can get a taxi to the apartments.

    The Swiss Railway (www.sbb.ch) and good roads make this an easy to reach destination.

The Apartments

  • Both apartments offer fully equipped kitchens, sitting and dining areas, televisions, fast speed broadband, Apple TV etc.

    One bedroom in addition to twin beds has two extra single beds suitable for children. Cot, high chair, toys, toboggans all provided.

    Three parking spaces and ski storage come with the apartments. Astro turf tennis court and playground area in the grounds and a tennis club in the town.

    Bedroom 2: Twin beds with two extra truckle beds, south facing balcony - en suite bathroom (bath and shower over bath)

    Bedroom 3: Twin beds with en suite bathroom (bath and shower over bath)

    Ground floor:

    Large open plan seating and dining area leading onto garden with outside seating. Super efficient log fire. Fully equipped kitchen off the dining area. Downstairs loo.

  • First floor

    Large double bedroom: south facing balcony with super king size bed and en suite bathroom (twin basins, bath with shower over bath, bidet)

    Smaller double bedroom with king size bed, south facing  balcony. Adjoining bathroom with shower.

    Ground floor leading onto garden with outside seating area.

    Open plan seating area with super efficient log fire, round dining table, seating six/seven, high chair, play area. As with Apt 302 garden and outside seating.

  • There is a ski room for use by both apartments.

    Equipped gym, sauna and games room (table tennis, darts ) serving 6 apartments

    Large washing machine and dryer in basement.

Activities

  • Crans sur Sierre and Montana were originally two towns but are now linked . Both have a wide variety of restaurants and shops. There are superb play areas for children of all ages and a beautiful lake for summer swimming and a public swimming pool. Mountain biking is available and the hikes and treks are innumerable. Summer and winter are equally wonderful. Crans Montana will be hosting the 2027 World Ski Championships.

    Activities include:
    Hiking and walking.
    Cross country cycling.
    Biking, walks, hikes long and short.
    Water sports, lake swimming and public swimming pool.
    Para gliding, quad biking.
    Tennis.
    Mini golf courses.
    Horse riding.
    Climbing
    Archery.

    Large adventure playground for older children, several playgrounds for younger ones.

  • Crans Montana is the perfect resort for all ages; young children can  to learn to ski  on nursery slopes while older children can explore the mountain. Experienced skiers can also venture further afield to Veysonnez and Nendaz to join the Verbier ski area. The Val d’Anniviers with its vast amount of off piste skiing is a 60 minute drive away.

    During the ski season (snow permitting) you can ski from the door a short way down to the Signal ski lift and ski back to the chalet from Arnouva where the nursery slopes are situated.

    Crans Montana provides skiing for every level of skier on pistes (and off piste) with spectacular views and often peaceful and sunny conditions. Being mostly the preserve of Swiss locals and Italians the resort is mostly free from tour groups.

  • Summer months are equally popular both as a restful sunny retreat and for the activity seeker.

    The hiking, trekking and mountain biking is stunning and hugely varied. There are several mountain alpages restaurants serving delicious local cheese and meats.

    GOLF: Famous high altitude course 18-hole gold course by Severino Ballesteros and 9-hole course by Jack Nicklaus.

    It is also home of the Omega European Masters Golf Course held annually at the end of August.

  • There is a wide variety of restaurants, both on and off the mountains plus a great selection of lively bars including the famous Cry d’Er Club d’Altitude and Zero Dix.

    The award winning family owned Taillens Cafes are in both Crans and Montana.

    Chetzeron is a popular restaurant and hotel on the mountain side open winter and summer.

    There are regular concerts and festivals throughout the year. At New Year there is a huge firework display on the ice rink by the casino.
